5 Min with a belt sander and you're golden. You'd want either stainless or Galvanized steel though, otherwise don't expect the drum to last too long.

I got this to store my bags of seed and feed.. Keeps the rats out. Keep it in the shed. If a rat can chew into this, its time to move. It came with some fain pieces that clearly kept some fun military stuff. Wish they let something in it. Would be cool.
