To be fair, these guys aren't the only ones - it's been an issue on quite a few sites, even those with good deals.
Still, it's a PITA trying to figure out EXACTLY which model you're actually getting sometimes! In this case, the product details do mention there's no scope, I think.
Picture is misleading - this is NOT the version with the scope! This is the 60SN (Marlin 60 SyNthetic stock); the scoped version is the 60SNWS (SyNthetic stock With Scope).
Also, if you have a Walmart near you that sells firearms you can get them to custom order it (in their special order catalog - the 2011 small one). I paid $162+tax for the SCOPED version with no transfer fee and no shipping charge - just pay for the gun, the tax, and the background check. (Came out to $173.34 in my case.)
I can understand if it was a toy and the fine print said "batteries sold separately" but why show it with a scope if the scope isn't included?
