Better or the same as the vortex cantilever?
The Aero Precision ultralight mount provides a significant weight reduction over the Vortex that you speak of. The Aero Ultralight mount is only 1.62 oz while the Vortex is 2.5 times heavier at 4.1 oz. In terms of application, they should both fit and work well for the same types of 30mm red dots/sights.
my favorite lightweight optic mount at a GREAT price.
