I've been portable safe shopping since my SCCY CPX2 got stolen from my car a couple weeks ago. BTW, do you know that SCCY replaces stolen guns for the original owner if you furnish a copy of the police report and original receipt, they say my replacement should be at my FFL in a couple of days! So I want to protect my replacement gun as you don't often get mulligans in life. Anyway, I have looked at and discarded this electronic safe from Sentry Safe because its just too darned flimsy for handgun storage. I really wanted to like it because I wanted the electronic keyless option but once I saw it in the flesh at Office Depot, it reminded me of a locking version of a school lunch box. Its obvious why the sticker inside of it said not for guns. All of the combination lock or electronic lock safes I have looked at under $40 have suffered from the locking mechanism being the weakness or were just so flimsy that I am going to go with a basic keyed locking mechanism. Figuring out what else to order from Amazon now to get free shipping but looks like the Snap Safe for $21 won my business.
