Exercise caution when purchasing Para 1911 style pistols. I live in Charlotte (their headquarter), and have heard there are major quality control issues with their US made guns. I recently handled a 14.45 and noticed that the grip safety was binding if any lateral pressure was put on it. It didnt take much for the safety to bind, and the gun would not fire. Obviously unacceptable, as in the right situation this could cost you your life. Its possible the problem is isolated to that 1 gun, but i cant believe Para would let something out of the factory like that. I wouldnt pay $200 for one of these guns, let alone close to $1000.
