Description

Item Number: 222716
MPN#: 2-RM669
The legendary Rossi revolvers return with a bang in 2023. The RM66 features Rossi’s prized double action trigger, and an unbelievably crisp single action trigger pull. To allow you to take the best advantage of those triggers, the RM66’s six-inch barrel pairs with a red ramp front sight and a fully adjustable rear sight. This allows you to zero the RM66 for your ammo of choice, whether it’s 158 grain .357 Magnum or 130 grain .38 Special.

The RM66 has 6 shots of .357 Magnum on tap in its steel cylinder. The full underlug barrel adds additional weight which helps manage magnum recoil. Further aiding recoil reduction is the wrap-around rubber grip, cushioning your hand during firing. There are already a considerable number of accessories available for the RM66, as it fits common holsters and speed loaders for similar sized medium frame revolvers.

But the Rossi RM66 isn’t just about performance. It’s also about legacy and history. This is a revolver you can wear on the range, shoot at Bianchi Cup, take hunting with you, and most importantly hand down to your children at some point.

  • I'm very impressed with this RM66! I have owned it for about a month and put 75 rounds through it. After sitting around for a night or two just clicking the trigger, it is very smooth in double action shooting. Nice and accurate, and it doesn't bite terribly with 357 ammo!

    I do not understand these.

The Rossi 66 is clearly a Taurus 66. Before Rossi pulled their 972 for not being drop safe, at least that was a different gun than the Taurus 66.

The Rossi 66 is a Taurus 66. It's not that they look the same, they are the exact same.

The gun even says "Taurus Armas" on the left side. It's definitely a Taurus.

The Taurus Model 66 was first introduced in 1978 as a six-shot revolver. In 1999 the capacity was increased to 7 rounds, as it remains today.
I've never heard of a 7 round capacity Rossi RM66 being produced. Another difference is the Rossi has a hammer mounted firing pin but the Taurus doesn't. They look alike in some images, but they're not the exact same. I think both were inspired by the Smith & Wesson 686.
In December of 1997 Forjas Taurus, S.A. purchased the rights and the equipment to manufacture Rossi handguns. At the same time, BrazTech International L.C. was created as the exclusive importer of Rossi firearms in North America. Revolvers sold by BrazTech with the Rossi name are manufactured in a facility owned by Taurus in SaoLeopoldo, Brazil. Much of the tooling and many of the machines were acquired from Rossi.

Good price. I got it locally at the SC Gun Company last Saturday for $515. It feels great and the trigger is nice, but I haven't had a chance to shoot yet. Hopefully I will tomorrow!
