AR500 Armor’s Freeman is a unique carrier for its small size- made especially for the included Octagonal 9x9 plates, it covers your vitals while being easy to transport and easy to wear. The carrier’s material consists of a Cordura® front and a 500D Nylon Cordura back. Also, using the laser-cut PALS system, it is capable of accommodating up to 3 magazine pouches. Thin but durable and comfortable Hypalon® straps contribute to its low profile. The accompanying 9x9 Octagonal Level III Steel Plates (front and rear plate included) are rifle-stopping and multi-hit capable plates. Also, these plates come already upgraded to our multi-curve design, for a more comfortable, ergonomic fit. The included pair of 9x9 Trauma Pads help mitigate the blunt impact and prevent backface deformation, one placed right behind each steel plate. Independent tests on our armor have been conducted in accordance with NIJ 0101.06 recommendations through H.P. White Laboratories and Oregon Ballistics (OBL). This Level III armor is perfectly capable of stopping pistol and rifle rounds, tested to stop 7.62x51 M80 NATO Ball (.308 Winchester) at a velocity of up to 2,780 FPS, and special threat tested to stop 5.56mm M855/SS109 (Green Tip) at a velocity of 2,780 FPS. The Tourniquet Pouch is a compact pouch built to carry a tourniquet device alongside an IFAK, magazine pouches, or any other accessories. Each pouch of the Multi-Caliber Pistol Magazine Triple Pouch accommodates all common pistol magazines, in single or double stack form, from .22LR to .50AE and everything in between- even Five-Seven. That being said, it’s a perfect way to keep needed ammo on hand, with an efficient weight for the function at just 3.2 ounces. The Pistol Magazine Single Pouch accommodates an additional pistol magazine to get you what may be that last needed reload before your threat can be neutralized. All our pouches are constructed from genuine 500D Cordura nylon with retention flaps that feature an easy-to-grip Hypalon® pull tab. The removable retention strap allows you to adjust for magazine capacity and size for the best fit, or even remove it entirely to run an open-top configuration. Each pouch also includes a matching pair of MALICE CLIPS® to attach to your MOLLE-compatible platform. Also, with this package is our Economy Sling, a two-point longarm sling with an adjustable 1.5” webbing for the body, 1” webbing at the connection ends, and paracord loops for attachment.
