Description
The Colt LE6920 SOCOM M4 Carbine was designed specifically for lightweight mobility, speed of target acquisition, and potent firepower capability. It is ideal for tactical deployment and traditional patrol. With the 4-position buttstock fully retracted, the Colt Law Enforcement Carbine is less than 30" long and weighs under 7 lbs. Features include an adjustable-post front sight, BUIS rear sight, side sling swivel at the gas block, and ambidextrous safety. The 14.5" heavy barrel is chrome-lined with a 6-groove, 1:7" twist. The LE6920SOCOM has M4 feed ramps, an M16-type bolt carrier, and an H2 buffer.

And I don’t know what you think is a joke about it, MCX is better than the M4 in about every way, can’t say about the LMG, I don’t know much about it, the ammunition is “supposedly”better.
SIG has the contract for new NGSW rifles light machine guns suppressors and ammunition,not the M4 that the army already had, FN has contracts for replacements and parts.
Instead of "I can't say" "I don't know" and "supposedly" take a few minutes and go learn for yourself.
It's a complete sham and SIG paid the right (wrong) people lots of money for it.
SIG is notorious for recalls.
SIG is charging the guv $30+K for each rifle......that means you and me are paying them, not the guv.
Plastic cased over rated ammo stated to be 40% less weight ?

Not much difference in weight between a brass case and a plastic/steel based case.
Everything else is the same, save for the 277 Fury uses a 150 grain bullet and the M80 308 round uses 147.
Perhaps 5% lighter....but I doubt it.
If they lied that obviously......what is sneaking by that isn't that obvious ?

It is replacing the M4, the M16, the M249, the M240, the M60......and so on and so on.
You’re entitled to your opinion, but I’ve also seen recalls on FN and colt, so I don’t think you can use that as a stand, but the only people who will really know about the weapons will be the soldiers who use it
I agree on the weight and the ammo I think it would’ve been better to have gone with 6 mm ARC ,the DOD is using it already, Who am I to say.
FN has got the contract to the US military now,after colt quit making AR’s for a while. You can get the commemorative additions in the M4 and the M16 from FN.
SIG has the contract now.
What a joke that will be.
