Taurus 1911 Standard 45 ACP 5" Barrel 8 Round - $439.99 after code "SAVE12"

Picked up this gun combo today. General impressions are the trigger on the pt1911 is heavy...however it's adjustable and with some tweaks was nice. The fit and finish are so so. The trigger's problem was the metal was very rough around cut and drilled edges. Took it apart and honed the grip safety, and thumb safety. Tweaked the Sear spring and it lightened up to about 5lbs. I can get it further but it would take more time. The heritage is a plinker...I've had a few of them and mess around and shoot them then basically get what I paid for them in trade or sale. They are not readily in stock in the Texas area and gun shows want $200 plus. This one does not come with the 22wmr cylinder but it can be ordered directly from Heritage for $30 or you can find online cheaper.
FWIW for a cheaper price, if the Girsan v2 had an adjustable trigger it would be FAR better in quality hands down. The fit and finish are night and day.

Sure its's a deal, assuming you want the revolver. similar to normal price for the 1911 alone. As for quality vs rock island it's probably a wash, although you'll find strong opinions on both sides

I am in the market for a 1911, but is this the deal? I'm also considering Citadel/Rock Island in the same price range.
