I can also recommend the similar 3x and 5x Steiner prisms for their clarity. The PA 3x SLX is decent, has a similar reticle to this PA model and weighs 8oz.
I just bought the FDE one and like it. Wide field of view, but you have to get up close. Love the chevron reticle but it does seem small in the wide view. Haven't zeroed yet but should not be difficult at all as long as my rest is stable. It's also just a tad large for what it is, but PA makes good stuff. Four out of five stars.
Good price, but not an uncommon one. I own one and have considered getting more. Served with a 4x ACOG and it's very much the same experience for the most part. I would suggest looking at the 3x version for 5.56 shooting.
