The P250 is a semi-automatic pistol made by SIG Sauer. This hammer-fired   pistol was introduced in 2007 and it is available in the following calibers:.22 Long Rifle,.380 ACP, 919mm Parabellum (9mm),.357 SIG,.40 S&W, and.45 ACP. On November 7, 2007, the 9mm P250 was released in North America. The.45 ACP compact model followed in February 2008 at the SHOT Show. In the latter part of 2009, the final model was introduced. The SIG P320 was first released in early 2014 and, as P250's striker-fired descendant, uses many of the same parts, including magazines and grip frames, and it maintains the modular design. Except for a.22 Long Rifle version, SIG Sauer no longer had the P250 offered online as of January 2017, there was no P250 listed as of January 2018. There are no manual external safeties on the P250. Instead, a firing pin block helps guard against accidental discharge of the firearm. Self-decocking DAO trigger mechanism with spurless and recessed hammer is used for the trigger. The handguns can be ordered with a dark Nitron slide surface finish, a two-tone finish with an untreated stainless steel slide, or a diamond-plated finish. In 2009 the P250 Compact's grip module was changed. This modification results in the employment of different magazines by the original and new style grip modules. The accessory rail was also modified from a curved rail to a Picatinny rail, so these old magazines cannot be used with the new grip modules. A medium width variation of the subcompact grip module with the Picatinny rail was introduced by SIG Sauer in 2012.
