I actually got one of these from Amazon a couple years back. I just couldn't justify the $2500(then price), so I sent it back. It was fun to play with and I could definitely make out deer at around 500yds. We have an old cemetery about 1000k yds and you could see the headstones still giving off heat after sunset. But for the price, it wasn't worth it. Oh, I actually used it to see where my house needed more insulation :p

For this price you can basically get a pulsar rqx30v thermal scope. About the same size and weight, better resolution and refresh rate, and you can actually mount it on your weapon and slay critters with it.

Agreed.

FLIR, much like Colt, would not survive without daddy warbuck contracts. Both are over priced.

I have used FLIR in the military and Pulsar, ATN, and Armasight in the civ world. FLIR isn't better than any of them.
