For this kind of money I'd much rather a Beretta APX.

Good gun for a good price. Takes mostly G19 parts. Barrel*, Trigger, Pins can be swapped. 500 rounds without a hiccup. Replaced the G2C and G19 as my daily. Mags are stupidly expensive tho.

Nevermind. No drop free mags....to risky for a duty weapon....

Count me in! Glad I saw this. I'm going to buy it and if it's as good as the reviews say and I am comfortable with it, it will be a new duty gun for me. I'd rather use a less expensive sidearm as if you are involved in a shooting they end up taking your weapon. I think this will fit the bill nicely. Heard nothing but good on these. That price is great

“I'd rather use a less expensive sidearm as if you are involved in a shooting they end up taking your weapon.”

Along with taking your dead body to the morgue. I’m all set. Why worry about saving $50-$100 when your life is what’s at stake? To each their own, but IMHO this is literally the 2nd worst reason to rationalize buying a pistol.

In case you’re wondering, the 1st worst reason is “because it comes with a bore brush.”

Big fat “NOPE” from me. I’d do a Taurus G2/G3 before this - or better yet anything in the $300+ category.

I own one of these and I can tell you they are a quality firearm. For the price you can't beat it. But the trigger (at least on mine) is the worst part of the experience. I have not done any polishing on the internals but I would bet with a little polishing you could make this a very nice carry or range pistol. If I remember right I paid about this same price for mine and it came with 3 magazines. Oh yeah I forgot that the magazines do not drop free. That might also be fixable but as I have other pistols that I enjoy shooting that I don't have to modify I just haven't bothered with it. For home defense and the price go for it.

Don't know about this offering but I've seen a Stoeger Cougar Beretta clone and while they finish wasn't as nice they seem to make pretty solid firearms.

You are right. The Cougar is made in Turkey on the original Beretta machinery if I remember right. The finish is a blue similar to old military guns... enough to do the job. They take Beretta magazines and probably Beretta parts. They function like the Storm pistol as far as I know. They have a rotating barrel. I have one that shoots very well.

See the reviews on this thing? Its 95% glock clone. Minus the extractor plunger as far as i can tell.
