It is my understanding that the barrel is the only part that is NOT compatible between the 870 and it's clones. I believe the ring on the barrel that the magazine cap tightens against is in a different location. Check out the following link:

I contacted Classic and they couldn't say for sure. They said is should work, but no info available from IAC.

luv the idea of a 1/2 price 870 clone but not crazy about made in china, but, after handling the 1 that the neighbor's kid has, I would get one before I gota Mossberg...
as an added bonus classic has been great to deal with

This is a great shotgun. Built like a tank. I got the 981 model with the rail. I outfitted mine with magpul furniture and a red dot and an allen stock shell sleeve. it holds 5 + 1 but you can add 2 more with an 870 extension tube.
