I have its big brother. The intensity flickers at times and is extremely annoying despite fresh charge. And no, not because it's on strobe...ha. Ok if they work and many peeps like em

Do you have the 'Rail Mount 2' or one of the other big brothers?

Perhaps apples to oranges but I have the Pro Tac HL3 with standard push button tail. I also have a Stinger DS HPL. Both have the 10-tap programming, and both will show a variety of intensities, and have done so since new. Granted I'm an idiot but no amount of fingering improves 'em. I don't think the issue is the batteries. And completely subjective but they don't appear to produce anywhere near the listed lumen/candela.

Gotcha. Thanks for the clarification. I asked because Streamlight says not to use rechargeable batteries with the Rail Mount 1 & 2. If I was in your shoes I'd take advantage of the limited lifetime warranty that came with your Streamlight/s. It sounds like you're a good/legit candidate for that. There might be an Authorized Service Center in your area that will handle repairs under warranty. You can check on that here:
https://www.streamlight.com/support/service/asc-page...
If there isn't a Service Center close enough to you, submit a Factory Service Request:
http://eweb.streamlight.com/Streamlight_Service/default.aspx?tabid=10&tabindex=0...
Couldn't hurt to try. I hope you can get 'em working as they should.
10-tap programming sounds like a trick this old dog would have a hard time learning. Maybe impossible. Good luck!

Not a crazy good deal but this has a lot of features hard to match at this price. .........and really isnt too big IMO for a cheap rail light if you need the switch and battery options.

You don’t want this monstrosity of a light on your weapon. It’s heavy and bulky.

Maybe you're thinking about the 'Rail Mount 2', or the 'Rail Mount HL-X', or the 'Rail Mount HL-X Pro'? All 3 of those are larger, heavier and brighter than the 'Rail Mount 1'. Here's some comparisons: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZWe-91e9uNQ... _ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vwhvWqI4X0c...
