Been eyeing the 982 for a long time now... had to buy one at this price ($149.99). Excited to get it!

Bought this gun due to great price, ended up selling to friend as i already have a benelli supernova 12g. So far this gun has seen upwards of 500 rounds, all trap rounds. Some lubrication, but no detailed cleanings yet.

Upon arrival the rear sight posts were crooked. Loosened the screws, tapped it a bit, wiggled it some, and got it to an acceptable position.

Action took a good few hundred rounds to smooth out. Some slight bolt wear was noticed on the outside rear of the bolt. This smoothed and the action became more and more easily actuated.

There were a few failure to ejects caused by user error. However, the user error was caused by difficulty in the action. User simply did not cock the gun hard enough. As mentioned, this has smoothed out, and thusly is no longer a problem.

Removed spacer in tube, allowing for another round to be loaded. No failures to feed to date.

Finish was good, though noticeably not a gun designed to wow a buyer into purchasing, based off of looks. Its a budget 870 clone.

Overall I would rate this firearm at a 9/10 if purchased at $100, 8/10 if purchased at $150, and 7/10 if purchased at $200. Essentially, this shotgun is a great no frills budget 12g. Design comes from a long trusted 870 design, but reproduced by the manufacturer with affordability as the number one selling point. 12 gauge being what it is (size, shape, design) allows for more tolerance in manufacturing, yet this gun's fit is tight from the start. This, in my opinion, is a positive, and makes this gun feel of higher build quality, even if break in is required.

Hi, sorry to bump an older post by you, but I also just bought this IAC Hawk. Can you give any more details on how you removed the spacer in the magazine tube to fit another round? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!

Got one of these for $99 last black friday... And this price is still a good price for it. For those interested, it's a remington 870 clone with a few improvements.

Does any of the 870 accessories fit? As popular as the 870 is, I often see cool tactical/home defense stocks or ?? on clearance places. Oh who had it on Black Friday?

some 870 accessories fit, but not always just drop in. some shaving/fitting for the fore end stock is required. barrels must be shaved a tiny bit i believe. rear stocks i think swap in fine.

it may be an 870 clone, but the "improvements" part i wouldnt say i agree with. its a cheap alternative based off of a good design, built with more questionable materials (im no metallurgist, but i imagine recycled chinese steel isnt superior to remingtons steel). It may be a little bit heavier of material...

Good gun for the price I have had one for several years and like it. Only complaint is that the edges are a little rough where you load the shotgun from the bottom so you could get cut if you go too fast. There may be a way to polish them but I would imagine it would remove the finish. As a self defense gun you once you have the rounds in the gun the bottom loading doesn't matter as any speed reloads will be done from the side entrance most likely in an actual shootout.
